E.CA Economics joins global consulting firm BRG
Berlin, 27 April 2026 – E.CA Economics today announced that it joined global consulting firm BRG, marking an important step in the firm’s ambition for continued growth and strengthening its position in the field of competition economics.
BRG is a firm with more than 1,600 professionals across more than 40 offices in the US, EMEA, APAC and Latin America and provides services spanning economics, disputes and investigations, corporate finance and performance improvement. Its Antitrust & Competition practice brings together leading experts with extensive experience before competition authorities worldwide.
Founded in 2007, E.CA Economics is a leading competition economics consultancy in the DACH region, advising clients on mergers, antitrust cases and regulatory procedures. The firm has an international team of more than 35 professional economists, supported by a further 15 staff, and operates from offices in Berlin, Brussels, London and Munich.
The combination strengthens the joint offering across several key dimensions and is driven by a clear and shared ambition: to build the strongest possible competition economics practice in Europe, while preserving the expertise, relationships and ways of working that have always defined E.CA. E.CA’s long-established leadership in the DACH region, combined with BRG’s professionals across Europe and beyond, creates a highly comprehensive competition economics capability.
Commenting on the acquisition, Hans W. Friederiszick, Managing Director and partner at E.CA Economics, said: “A commitment to excellence, academic rigour and senior-level case experience is a shared value proposition. Scale, regional scope and enthusiasm are additional benefits – this is an exciting time for our group!”
Rainer Nitsche, Managing Director and partner at E.CA Economics, added: “We are delighted to join BRG as we see a perfect fit in terms of culture and approach to our work. The combined entity will have a solid footprint in all large European states which further underpins our capability to handle international mergers and damage litigation cases.”
