E.CA advises Freshfields and Vossloh on the acquisition of Sateba
Berlin, 10 October 2025 – The French Competition Authority has approved Vossloh AG’s acquisition of Sateba from TowerBrook Capital Partners, subject to the implementation of a commitment proposed by Vossloh. Vossloh is a global rail technology group focused on rail infrastructure systems. Sateba, headquartered in Paris, is a European specialist in concrete sleepers and bearers, operating in ten countries.
The French decision marks the final clearance in a multi-jurisdictional merger review process. As part of this process, E.CA Economics supported Vossloh and Freshfields with a comprehensive economic analysis and evidentiary support. The team’s work helped assess potential competition risks and contributed to the analytical framework underlying the clearance decisions.
The project was led by Directors Rainer Nitsche and Anselm Mattes, supported by Benedikt Flügel, Jakub Kałużny, Michael Kaiser, Giulia Santosuosso, and Carina Weber.
