Malte Jeschonneck
Manager
Malte Jeschonneck is a Manager in the Brussels office. Since joining in September 2021, he has developed expertise in cartel proceedings and litigation, handling cases across diverse sectors such as steel, cement, safety equipment, grocery retail, and end-of-life vehicles. He advised clients on horizontal and vertical mergers within industries like digital platforms, roofing tiles, and particle boards, and assisted with state aid assessments. Additionally, Malte has contributed to E.CA’s support study for the European Commission in the railway sector.
Malte holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in economics from Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where he specialised in econometrics and empirical industrial organisation. For his master’s thesis, he conducted a series of simulations to study the capability of reinforcement learning algorithms to forge collusive schemes. He briefly worked as a scientific assistant at the Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE).
